I finally got the big break I’ve been needing for a very long time. I scored a salaried IT position with a starting pay of $33k a year, with incremental raises that will lead me to be earning $65-$67k in two years.

Which honestly, this has been the best offer I’ve gotten for a position since I started looking in October. So I’m kinda glad the others didn’t work out!

Time to send a resignation letter...

Still looking for a job myself...there are three jobs across the country at one museum right now that would be my dream jobs (all are Museum Educator positions at a car museum) - I have an Education degree, past Museum work experience, archival experience and an Advanced History degree as well, so I would be perfect for it.

BUT.....all three are either seasonal or a 6-month contract. I was hoping for something permanent and full-time. :(

Aww, that’s really unfortunate. Those would sound like absolutely insanely awesome positions! Are you sure they would not be willing to do a contract to hire? Contract to hire is incredibly popular in the tech field.

I e-mailed them to ask yesterday, but have not heard anything back yet, and, seeing as it’s a weekend, I imagine I may not hear back until Monday...(or also possibly not hear back at all, as the application says “only those chosen for an interview will be contacted.”) :/

Well, have mostly been trying to get into teaching positions - provincial budget cats and a lack of positions makes that hard around here.

Trying to broaden my search now to museums as well, and the local libraries (I also have library and tech experience [although no certification to prove I know what I know for my tech. experience...]).
